Expressing concern about the escalating costs of medical services, MP Barrow emphasized the importance of the NHIF medical cover in providing universal coverage for the majority of vulnerable elderly citizens. He underscored the timeliness of the initiative, especially amid the challenges posed by floods and related diseases in the region.

The MP highlighted that the medical cover would encompass a broad spectrum of services, including treatment for chronic illnesses and pre-existing conditions. He assured that beneficiaries above the age of 65 underwent thorough vetting following the government's introduced plans.
